Wait, wait, wait. Stop.

25 May

If the answer is no, then you need to do something about that.
All the best movies have muppets in them.
Dear Muppets,
Promise me that you will never die.

Out of sight, out of mind and the placebo effect in a wonderful partnership. Until you can see the blood starting to spread out from underneath the middle.

The bandaid has since come off and I gotta say, it’s rather disappointing. Hopefully it will scar well though, gotta get something out of this.

I was looking at it last night and thinking that it was lucky it was my left hand, because you don’t use your left hand for anything.
“Hang on,” I thought “It’s always my left hand that I slash open. I wonder why that is.”
“It’s because you’re always holding the knife in your right hand.” Answered the part of my brain that always answers the stupid questions that I ask myself.

Season 5 is going to be “12 Monkeys” redone with British accents and sparkly things.
May is going to be one enourmous nerdgasm for me.

Lemons at tha Door

9 Dec

Like leaving a penny in the pot of the poor,
She remembers when she was young,
and the gypsies came to town!

Saw Rapskallion again at Pheonix last night. Twas even more epic, even if there was less room to dance.
The most epic part was that they recognised me. Jeremy aka Mysterio even came and talked to me before and after the show. I got him to sign a copy of their cd for me.
We were unfortunately positioned up the back corner, but during their second song Sara peeked around behind the double bass to give me a thumbs up and a question face. Both Zac Attack and Carmen wished us a good night as we left.
Friggin Epic. Can’t wait for them to come back to Canberra.
They’re currently touring up the east coast. If you get a chance to see them, I strongly recommend you take it.
Again with their website.

Eat Fresh

8 Dec

God-damn mozzarella, what’s up with that?
Last night I went to the front to hear some great live tunes.
Mr Fibby was the opening act. Mr Fibby hail from the delightful eighteenth century, seaside village of Canberra. They are an 4 piece of violin, guitar, cello and insults who confuse and delight audiences with their enchantingly depressing faux-fairytales of love and death. They have been described as ‘volcanic’, ‘full of sound and fury’ and ‘ an inappropriate act to stage in Robertson, on a sunday afternoon, after a children’s dance performance’. They were delightfully entertaining and the schtick was wonderful.
Then for the Rapskallions. “Think Tom Waits in a torn tutu, singing Edith Piaf songs through a megaphone, backed by the Muppet show band, sailing the high seas on a Spanish galleon.” – Fingali Capaldi, singer, guitar, accordion. Fingali looks like the love child of Daniel Johns and Jack Sparrow and closed the show with In the Hall of the Mountain King on a ukulele-sized bouzouki. They’re as close as I’ve ever come to seeing a piratecore band live and were wonderfully energetic and kickarse, to the point where they were breaking their percussion. I danced and clapped till I had sweat in my eyes and blisters on my hands. I’m going to go see them again tonight at pheonix. I recommend you all come.

Wacom Intuos4

30 Nov

I got back from my trip to the coast today. Unpacking is still not done. I spent all of today travelling, screw you. I am tired, I apologise.
But, my new wacom intuos 4 graphics tablet was waiting for me. I have been playing with it a little.
All of the digital stuff I have done so far has been with the trackpad on my laptop.
Moving straight from that this is like moving from something so bad to something so awesome that it makes you forget how to simile.
I’m gonna go sleep now or else my brain will melt.

Harry Potter Jazz “The Sorcerer’s Stone”

19 Nov

Harry Potter Jazz “The Sorcerer’s Stone” by The Mark Kramer Jazz Trio
Seriously amazing bit of music. Its a jazz cover of the soundtrack to Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I’ve listened through it three times tonight while drawing this up among other things. Wonderful jazz made amazing by the fact that it’s the Harry Potter. Nerd tingles down your spine. Just brilliant.

Do it. It’s for art.

One of my uni friends is creating a piece of artwork made up of text messages.
These texts should be of the ‘lovey-dovey’, soppy or seedy nature.
She wants any messages, voicemail and photos that fit this category that you’ve received. Emails are also accepted.
Also, pass it on. Graffiti it onto coasters in pubs and stuff, that ought to get her some exceptionally seedy ones.

I couldn’t be bothered doing a proper post, this seemed easier.
